Agriculture as a pillar of Namibia’s next economy
Agriculture is now one of the seven priorities in Namibia’s NDP6. The Government has elevated agriculture as a strategic driver of food security, employment and economic diversification. The agricultural initiatives by OMDis translate policy intent into locally grounded, investable projects. The Orange River carries the promise of fertility. We have identified seven plots of previously cultivated land between Oranjemund and Rosh Pinah, that make up the 500 hectares. Each has been independently assessed for soil and water quality, as well as climate suitability.
