OMDis Town Transform Agency “OMDis” was established in 2019 with the sole purpose of proactively accelerating the diversification of Oranjemunds economy, alongside the efforts of other town stakeholders. The goal of the agency is to safeguard the Town’s economic future beyond mining. The objectives of OMDis is to:

  • Support existing businesses to become more sustainable
  • Develop new SMEs and a culture of entrepreneurship
  • Create new large industry platforms that can support the economy alongside or instead of mining

These objectives embrace an array of industry sectors, such as Tourism, Industrial, Healthcare, Agriculture, SME Development, and Property Development. OMDis understands the value of smart partnerships in unlocking economic development and will be dealing with various of companies, Government agencies, and organizations. As collaborations have proven to create a multitude of developmental achievements, more notably, innovative opportunities are found and shaped by the networked and agile socio-economic ecosystem. OMDis Business Development is geared to lure and attract sustainable businesses that will diversify the local economic development and create the needed job opportunities.
