Dololo

Be Young. Disrupt. Inspire. Connecting Young Talent In Game-Changing Spaces

Dololo was engaged in 2018 by the Transform Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to play an active role as one of the key partners to support the Town Transformation Strategy. Dololo’s role and principle objectives were to:

  • Outline baseline entrepreneurial information in Oranjemund
  • Develop an entrepreneurial mindset, culture, behaviour and skill-set in Oranjemund
  • Inform the future of Oranjemund’s Transform strategy, especially in relation to entrepreneurship development

Train-the-Trainer Programme

The objective was to work with individuals that were already actively working in their community to support entrepreneurship in some format and to equip them with new knowledge and skills that could enable them to achieve even better outcomes. It was also important to transfer basic skills and understanding of entrepreneurship development that would remain in the town beyond the duration of Dololo’s engagement.

“There is a need to actively support and invest in any activities that bring excitement to the town and these could be in the form of events, adventure tourism or sports events. The purpose is to expose the local community to progressive concepts, a culture of openness and collaboration, and new ideas while also exposing Oranjemund to the world.”

One-on-one coaching of entrepreneurs

Five entrepreneurs were identified for one-on-one coaching in Oranjemund. This was an exciting period for the entrepreneurs as they were assured a safe environment to ask daring questions related to their business operations.
