Local Artist Aurelia Sieberhagen presents her art initiative ‘OMD Tiny Art Gallery’. The gallery is one of the world’s smallest art galleries and is placed inside Oranjemund Spar next to the bookshelves.
Ambrosius Amutenya Primary School’s (AAPS) Agriculture school project under the name Project Pamwe (“together” in Herero) is back and breaking new ground amongst our evergreen vegetation in Oranjemund. The school garden is situated at our local community garden Futree, a peaceful and happy place for many of our local community crop growers.

OMDis Town Transform Agency “OMDis” was established in August of 2019 as an S21 Company by NAMDEB Diamond Corporation with the sole purpose of proactively accelerating the diversification of the Oranjemund economy, alongside the efforts of other town stakeholders. The goal of the agency is to transform the Town’s economic future beyond mining.
A town like Oranjemund, situated in the renowned Sperrgebiet and with all its rich history and secluded ambiance, has an incredible story to tell. The town was built in 1936 and existed exclusively to serve the diamond mining industry.
